Giannetti Contracting - Family-Run for Three Generations Third-generation Giannetti Contracting Corporation is the definition of a family business. Founded in Detroit in 1958 by brothers Silvio and Ricky, the company was born when Silvio and a friend began hauling concrete to build patios. After a few years, they raised enough money to buy a backhoe and began installing wells and septic systems, and the company took off from there. The brothers ran the company in southeast Michigan for 15 years, while teaching Silvio’s son, Ricky II, how to run the business. Under Ricky II’s guidance, Giannetti Contracting expanded into south Florida. After his passing, the company was inherited by Richard Gibbs III, the current CEO, and the rest of Ricky II’s children. Today, Giannetti Contracting specializes in providing underground utility construction services to both the public and private sectors. It provides specialized utility installations, including water mains, pump and lift stations, emergency municipal main repairs, and wastewater treatment plants. These extensive offerings are a testament of how far the company has come since its humble beginnings.
