Manta offers free company information on more than 64 million firms around the world, with an emphasis on small- and medium-size businesses. Manta users can view company details such as company name, address, number of employees, estimated annual sales and more. Manta also aggregates a number of premium reports from some of the best-known companies in the business world. Please see About Us for additional information on Manta.

Registration is free and is the best way to take advantage of all of the features on Manta. You must be a registered user to view all of the details about companies, to use myManta, to ask a question about a company, to add information to a company listing and more.

3.)

Since the launch of Manta, we have gone through different styles of user IDs. That means some folks log in to Manta with a number, letter combination and others with their email address. In order to provide the best experience for our members, we needed our user IDs to be consistent--for them all to change to an email address.

All Manta members have an email address on file, but we had no way of knowing if the email was good. So, in addition to changing the User ID, we also require that the email address be validated. You can change the email we have on file for you by going to your Member Profile (see next question) and following the prompts.

Your Member Profile is the place where you can manage your public and private Manta identities. It securely stores information about you and your company, as well as any questions, answers or content you contribute to Manta company profiles. And since everyone who registers has one, you can learn more about other members.

To add information to your profile, just click on "Manage Profile" and fill in all information you want. You can control what other Manta members see about you by clicking "Public Profile Settings" and choosing what you want to show. Be sure to save your changes after you've made your choices.

It's a list of the last nine Manta members to view that company profile. You can learn more about a recent visitor by placing your cursor over their name. The list can suggest a company's "interesting-ness" and show business owners who has expressed interest. It's also a way to leave your calling card with the companies you have visited.

If you do not want other people to see your Manta activities, just go to your Member Profile and choose "Manage Profile," then click "Public Profile Settings." At the bottom of the page, you'll see a blue box that says "Show me in the Recent Visitors list." Uncheck the box to turn off this feature.

Another way to turn off this feature is to place the cursor on your name. When your profile details are displayed, you'll see "Turn Private Browsing On." Click the word "on" to turn this feature off. All future company profile pages viewed will not display your name.

Please note that this status change only affects future company profile views. Your name will not be removed from the company profiles you have viewed before turning it off.

If you ask or answer a company question, submit information about a company, or ask a question of our sales expert, it will be attributed to you. And it will be linked to the public version of your profile, which you control (see question 4).

Having a public profile allows other members to learn more about you and you about them. You can even connect if you have a reason to learn more or just talk business.

You also will appear as a recent vistor on company pages. You can turn this feature off. See how in Question 6.

You may retrieve your User ID and Password by using the Forgot Your Password utility on Manta.

• Company data compiled from many public information sources or, when it's marked as claimed, from a representative of the company.
• Additional information provided by other Manta members.
• Industry and company reports from prominent publishers.
• A map of the company's location.
• A place to ask questions about a company and have it answered by the Manta community.

The basic company information on Manta is collected by third-party publishers through multiple sources, including public company financials and trade records; public records such as business registrations and government registries, and direct phone calls to businesses. When a company profile is marked as claimed, the data has been provided by a representative of the company.

Manta content is continuously updated as new content is made available from publishers and from business owners or their representatives. In addition, Manta is frequently updated with new features and resources.

There is incorrect information in my company profile. How can I fix it?

Claim your company profile. This tool allows you to replace the profile information on Manta with information that comes directly from you. A claimed profile can include your own words, pictures, videos and more. To start your claim, just locate your company on Manta and click the "Claim This Profile" link.

Currently, you cannot create a company profile on Manta. But we are adding this ability. Look for it before the end of 2009.

If you do not want certain information to appear on your company profile, you should claim the profile. That way, you can choose exactly what information is displayed about your company. To start your claim, just locate your company on Manta and click the "Claim This Profile" link.

Yes. Just claim your profile. This tool allows you to replace the profile information on Manta with information that comes directly from you—and you can add a lot more, including company logos, websites, contacts and social media links. To start your claim, just locate your company on Manta and click the "Claim This Profile" link.

Yes. Manta members who know additional information about a company can add that to the "Add Info" or "More Info" tab of the company profile page. This includes information such as alternate address, contact name and phone number or other business information. It also can include experiences, endorsements or other comments about a company. To add information, just locate a company on Manta and click on the "Add Info" or "More Info" tab.

myManta is a one-stop customer service spot for Manta. In addition to managing your account and advertising details, it offers Manta members the ability to organize and manage company information into meaningful personal lists. Because it's Web-based, myManta can be accessed from anywhere, anytime. And there's nothing to install.

• Store company information in lists that you designate.
• Add personal notes and contact information to listings.
• Generate a sales pipeline, or sales forecast, and schedule and record next steps.
• Share your lists with other Manta users.

• Edit you're account information, including your email address and screen name.
• Create a full summary of your account history and retrieve individual purchase receipts.

The Account Tab allows you to view all of your purchased documents in one place.

Security is of the utmost priority for us. Since myManta contains information that you personally enter, we want to ensure that proper access is provided and request verification of your user credentials.

Use our new Company Q&A feature to post questions about any private company in the United States. You must be logged in or you must register on Manta to ask a question.

Any registered Manta user can answer a question. This can include people associated with the company, those who have done business with the company, etc.

Companies with open member questions are highlighted in the search and browse sections of Manta. Members can even filter results to show only those companies with open questions.

Featured Company Listings allow you to promote your company above other companies listed on Manta in dozens of categories and hundreds of locations. For $49.99 a month, a specially designed display will highlight your company information above all free basic company profiles in the category and location you choose. But the first month is FREE.

The 30-day free trial is a one-time offer per customer. A major credit card is required. After your free trial period is over, your listing will continue to run, and $49.99 will be charged to your credit card every 30 days. To avoid being charged, cancel your listing before the 30-day trial is up.

To cancel, log into myManta and click the My Featured Listings tab. Choose a cancel or delete option under Actions and follow the simple instructions.

We selected locations that we believe provide the best geographical coverage. If your city is not on the list, you should select the closest location.

You can see an example of where your listing appears by logging in to myManta, going to the My Featured Listings tab, and clicking on the link that says "See an example page" below the listing.

Please note that you cannot search for your company name to view the FCL. It appears in the category that you purchased and is not related to our search function.

Whether you do a search on Manta or choose the U.S. browse option in the COMPANIES navigation, you'll land on a page with the title: "U.S. Companies by Category & Location." On the right side of the page, you'll see a "Refine Your Results" box. Click either plus sign or the Expand link to expand the box. Click here for help using the Refine Your Results tool.

You can sort company listings by company revenue, number of employees, whether it is a public or private company and the location type (HQ, branch, single location). Click here for more on the Refine Your Results tool.

Once you've found the document or documents you wish to buy, just click the Add to Cart button. You will then be taken to the Manta Shopping Cart where you will see the item that you just selected. Click Continue Shopping to return to the Manta homepage, or click the Proceed to Checkout button.

This takes you to the Create Your Account page. If you aren't already a Manta member, you will be prompted to create an account. Fill out all the required fields and click continue. Fill in your credit card information and submit. Once the payment is verified with your payment provider (in seconds), you will land on a page where you can view your documents.

Documents are delivered electronically in PDF or HTML format, depending on the publisher. After the payment has been verified you will be presented with a link to directly view the purchased content.

You also may view the documents at any time by accessing the Reading Room tab of myManta. This repository houses all content that you have purchased.

Cached memory that is full may prevent all documents from opening. Try closing your browser sessions. Log into the site, and click the Reading Room option. On the next page scroll down and click the View button to view the documents.

Manta works closely with a number of publishers to provide our users with the most recent data available. We pull information from various databases and data repositories. Occasionally, a web page does not respond in a timely manner, which causes a timeout. In the event that a report is purchased and the content page is empty, please notify Customer Service at help@manta.com for assistance.

In order for the Shopping Cart to function, Cookies must be enabled on your computer. Check the settings on your computer to determine if the Cookies feature is enabled.

Payment by credit card is the only payment option available. We accept American Express, Diner's Club, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Credit card authorizations are conducted through a secure link with our payment partner.

• Invalid Address Info: The address supplied on the registration form does not match the billing address that your credit card issuer has on file.
• Invalid Credit Card/Expiration Info: The credit card account number or the credit card expiration date were entered incorrectly. Check the numbers again and re-enter.
• Invalid Card Validation Number (CVN): The Card Validation Number from the back of the card is incorrect. Please check the CVN and re-enter.
• Insufficient Funds available: Your request for payment has exceeded your credit card limit.

You can print a receipt as soon as your purchase is complete, or you can access the My Account tab of myManta. Click on View Purchase History and either designate a date range or list all transactions. Just click the receipt link next to the transaction.

We cannot and do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of the information available through this service, which is provided to the user "as is."
