Editorial Guidelines for Featured Company Listings

In order to build, maintain and promote a quality resource for business professionals, consumers and advertisers, Manta.com has established the following editorial guidelines.

Advertiser content, including Featured Listings, is subject to editorial review, modification and/or removal by Manta.com editors according to these guidelines.

Minimum requirements for inclusion:

  • Featured Listings must represent a legitimate business of value to Manta.com visitors.
  • In listings that include a link to a website, the site must be contextually relevant.
  • Listings must be in English.

Featured Company Listings cannot be submitted for:

  • Online gambling sites and gambling establishments
  • Pornography/adult content sites and establishments
  • Online pharmacies
  • Multi Level Marketing (MLM) websites
  • "Get Rich Quick" schemes
  • File sharing or peer-to-peer networking sites
  • Link-only sites or third-party CPC ad resellers
  • Websites that are under construction

Company Name
You must use your official company name or “doing business as” name.  No additional marketing slogans should be added to the company name.

Capitalization:  Excessive capitalization is prohibited. For example, do not capitalize entire phrases such as “FREE SITE.”

Free Claims
We highly recommend you do not use the term "free" in your company descriptive text. We reserve the right to remove the claim from your listing if it is not easily verified.

Abbreviations
Avoid improper or unnecessary abbreviations. Industry-standard abbreviations are acceptable.

Punctuation
Do not use unnecessary punctuation:

  • No exclamation points “!”   
  • No question marks “?”  
  • No gratuitous use of special characters or symbols designed to change the look of your listing.
    • Example: “We sell **** 1 Million **** products for $$$$$”

Spacing
Your description must be in a logical sentence or phrase form and contain grammatically correct spacing.

Spelling
Spell check your submission. We reserve the right to correct spelling errors if necessary.
