Everything runs fine, invoices are clean, no surprises on rates. Main thing is response time during peak periods. Had two instances where I was waiting a few hours for an update on an in-transit shipment. Not a disaster but when your buyer is asking questions every 30 minutes it adds up. Day to day is solid though

Asked them early on what happens if something goes wrong after hours. They sent me a document. Actual printed escalation path, not "just call us" Haven't had to use it but knowing it exists changes how I think about the relationship.

We ship product that has specific handling and documentation requirements. Mentioned this upfront, they asked the right follow-up questions, didn't have to chase anyone for updates. First shipment had one delay on the carrier side, got a message the same day with the revised eta and reason

They asked about dimensions, suppliers, receiving setup before quoting anything. First shipment went through, invoice matched the quote. Has not happened to me with any broker before.
