Randall L. Murphy, Jr., MD, received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, graduating summa cum laude, from Furman University in Greenville, SC. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, graduating magna cum laude. He completed his orthopaedic surgery internship and residency from Greenville Hospital System, Greenville, SC. Following residency, he completed a one-year orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship from Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine in Jackson MS, and New Orleans, LA. After receiving his sports medicine training he returned to Alabama to work as a partner, team physician, and surgeon at the Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons in Montgomery, AL. Dr. Murphy is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon.
