All retention checks and minor bracket repairs are included in the initial fee. We offer several bracket systems including Damon and use colored or fluorescent elastics for the kids. Patients actually see a doctor, not a assistant. The doctor conducts all consults and explains the treatment plans personally. The wires are custom fitted for each individual by the doctor. A 6'4" boy and a 5'" girl obviously do not have the same size arches and are therefore, not given the same arch wires. In other offices everybody is given the same arch wires by an assistant. Its like an assembly line, in a factory, where no thought is given to individual differences. The result is over expansion of dental arches in smaller people which could lead to gum recession when older. Also, we do not use computer generated arch wires from California so the assistant can place them. Is this modern technology or as I believe beyond common sense when the doctor can custom fit it chair-side and cost $700.00+ or less? The parents are always welcome in the treatment room. Other offices falsely evoke the HIPPA laws to prevent this. Why? Because they don't want you to see an assistant, not a doctor, does all the work.
My Philosophy: I believe in "The Golden Rule." In Orthodontics this would be to correct the problem in the most time and cost-efficient way and get lasting results. This means using the least amount of braces, the least amount of time, get lasting results, and charge accordingly (Lower Overhead = Lower Prices). Most cases are started at 10-13 years of age for girls and 12-15 for boys.
