Simply stated . Do Not Rent from or Trust This Company! My daughter rented from this Company not that long ago. We gave Oakstone Property Management LLC the required security deposit of $625 when she moved in. She was finishing up her 4th year at VCU. We left the apartment in good condition at lease end as I her dad helped move her out and clean the apartment. After a week and not much more we requested the return of the $625 damage deposit. We were informed that due to a lease extension document that we purportedly had signed and frankly that none of us had signed we were told we had to get that security deposit from the incoming tenant. We had trouble getting the electric bill for a few days of use by this person minor as it was never mind getting a security deposit from someone who has no financial obligation to us and has no reason to even give us the time of day. We called Oakstone Property Management, we emailed and sent registered mail all which were ignored. Virginia real estate law clearly states that the security deposit "shall" be returned to the tenant by the management firm that received it within 30 days of lease end minus any fees incurred of course. This company takes advantage of collage age kids attending VCU and cannot be trusted. Don't deal with them Moms and Dad's.
