I had my basement floor poured and the contract called for a hard trowel finish. It was anything but that finish. They say is "flat and smooth enough to cover". Not sure why they took a job they could not do or have the skill to meet specifications. I did not contract for standards, but a hard trowel finish. Specifications mean nothing to them. Their response to issue is below. Per contract this meets industry standards and looks like any other basement they have completed. Per Lake Wall builders - The floor is flat and smooth enough to be covered. There may have been areas with a rougher finish due to material used to prime the Pump for the concrete to flow freely. This was mandatory and had to be mixed with the concrete it may have created spots that cured slower and affected the finish. To achieve a truly smooth hard trowel finish we would've needed to run a finish machine.

I have worked with a many contractors and never have I seen them leave such a mess. When Asking Andy Harmon from Lakewall Builders to clean up this up, his response was to very terse and told us that they would charge us to do it. Very unprofessional and I would not use them again.
