International Wood Corporation Improving the World Corp, owns 44,000 acres of plantation hardwood forestry that was scheduled to be cut in 2017. IWC developed a Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Project and has converted the use of the plantation from production of Exotic Wood for consumer sales to carbon credit sequestration that will produce 500,000 VCU for sale use to offset the carbon footprint of jets and ships buying fuel from a IWC Subsidiary or to International Shipping Companies. In 2017 IWC plans on launching a similar project in Suriname as a JV with the local indigenous tribe, expanding to a RED and REDD++ project. Because IWC owns the plantation valued at acquisition cost of US $55,000,000 and had previously harvested the hardwood on the property in the 1980 for close to $76,000,000 the cost of converting the plantation to a sustainable carbon offset -timber projects is financially attractive for the institutional investor who traditionally buys timberland through the companies like John Hancock Timberland Resource Group, IWC target market for 2018 is to take IWC and list with the NYST Small Cap.
