Jim Wirt graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Computer Science in 1985. At that time, he provided independent computer work for several departments of OSU, and wrote the core application that managed KICKER Audio (formerly known as Stillwater Designs) while they experienced their initial explosive growth phase. Over the years, Jim’s client base grew, eventually pushing him to hire on assistance in running the business, especially as he spent time outside the country on mission trips. In 2006, Aaron Bean joined on as a programmer to assist with work from Oklahoma State’s Fire Service Training department. Finding success there, Beardon Group LLC was formed in 2008. Three years later, Michael McCarty was added as an additional developer. In the last few years, multiple part time interns from OSU and several full-time employees have been added to the staff, providing more technical and business expertise. After a few years working in an office in Meridian Technology Center, Beardon moved into their current location off Highway 51, and have since provided computing solutions to the Stillwater area. Beardon has been providing technical solutions to organizations of all shapes and sizes for nearly thirty years. Our past clientele consists of groups like Oklahoma State University and Fire Protection Publications, the international publishing company for all IFSTA-approved fire service training, as well as local businesses like KICKER and the Mercury Marine production plant. At Beardon, we’re dedicated towards maintaining awareness of new technology and keeping our clients up to speed with what’s going on in the digital world. We feel that ensuring our customers understand what we’re doing, the software and hardware that we’re using, and what we have planned is part of one of our main values: integrity.
