After losing my key for like the umpteenth time, I decided it was time I stopped paying up for copy keys and do something about it. Besides, it wasn’t safe, as my neighbor knowingly pointed out! I thought rekeying was a good option, but Gary had other plans. Based on my record of losing keys, he said I’d probably lose them again and end up needing his service. Stopped by a couple of hardware stores asking them to replicate a key I had. Turns out, it was a high security key and apparently they did not have the key blanks and the tools needed to carve it. Nearly every other locksmith I’d called up in Southlake asked me to bring the lock to their shop. Apparently, they only provided on-call service for big issues. By big, I knew they meant those issues where they had the chance to make big money.
