Ensuring Quality and Safety of Obstacle Course Racing Events The sanctioning body for a sport that has emerged rather fully on the national level, United States Obstacle Course Racing’s (USOCR’s) mandate encompasses ensuring the quality and safety of all sanctioned events. Consequently, USOCR leverages its considerable experience in all aspects of the sport to add value via, among other things, its insurance and risk management capacities, which help event organizers navigate a complex landscape. USOCR engages with insurance carriers in demonstrating that race directors have built safe, reliable courses with a premium placed on injury prevention. Overseeing the details of producing a fun, challenging, and safe course, USOCR works from the ground up using CAD design software and modeling.
