To others, it may have appeared that I had everything working against me - I had been out of the workforce for years, I had a lack of local knowledge, and I certainly didn't know my way around the lake yet. Instead of proving my critics right, I worked on gaining the knowledge and experience I was lacking. I spent my time driving to learn my way around the lake - I didn't have a GPS then and still don't use one now!
