I guess our first indication that this guy was shady was when he went on and on about insurance coverage. Insurance companies aren't going to cover 100% bad jobs! We had a toilet leak in the master bathroom that flooded our room and a big portion of the downstairs. Our wood floor was completely damaged. He didn't remove ANY baseboards and proceeded to drill a million holes all over our walls and ceilings. He even missed an entire area. There was moisture on our landing and he thought it was from my husband carrying wet blankets. He didn't look underneath to see that my pantry storage was completely flooded with water! Our insurance adjuster came over and she was horrified what she saw. Baseboards still on next to wet warped floor. Any contractor should know that the water would get in the baseboard and suck up the wall. As a result we had over $5,000 in mold! Also why in the work wasn't the drywall removed....why drill a million holes?!?!? This was completely devastating to us! He just wasted our time during this dramatic event, we now have mold! Luckily we got a great company in and everything is resolved. So we were pretty upset but decided to move on. Our insurance company decided to pay him almost $6,000 out of the $8,000 he wanted. We thought that was actually pretty generous considering the entire job had to be redone and he caused a ton of mold. He then proceeded to keep emailing us demanding his full bill. We said are you joking, be happy you got what you got and move on. He called insurance trying to fight. He is now placing a lien on our house...yup he does an awful job, caused us to have mold but he wants full payment and now is placing a lien! We don't care because it's a joke and the second we present all the reports, he doesn't stand a chance! If you have used him in the past, I highly recommend that you get tested for mold. Also he had 5 full days to work on our house. When it came to attention what he was doing and the damage he was causing, we fired him!
