A great recommendation is to do a job in the timeframe you say you are going to do the job... it is only OK to overcharge a job when it is in a tight timeframe and you promise to do it in that timeframe. Overcharging over $1,500 is not justified when you are late turning in the job. Threatening with charging more if the customer does not pay within 20 HOURS of when you say that you finished the job (although the customer is not satisfied) and when you took 3 days longer to do than the promised time is not very good business practices, although you say you have been burned before (maybe you should analyze why you have been burned).
