I’d just evicted a tenant and needed the lock changed. When I called them up on 847-496-0842 and asked them to help me install a new lock I’d purchased from the nearby hardware shop, little did I expect them to get there so fast. I think the technician arrived in about ten minutes! Wow, that was super quick! Anyway, once I showed him the lock I needed installed, Eric from Village Locksmith Store told me that it wasn’t a great one and the existing one would do a better job at securing my property. I couldn’t believe it! I’d just paid $100 for it, and Eric dismissed it as something completely useless. That’s when he explained how a DIY rekeyable lock wasn’t great for security. If you could do it, anyone could do it – that’s what he said! He had a point! I planned on returning the lock. Eric suggested that I rekey the existing the lock, which I did! I’m not exatly what you’d call a review person. In fact this could easily be the first ever detailed review that I’m posting online. A few weeks ago, I ended up misplacing my key bunch. When you’ve been tricked into buying unwanted stuff, charged $250 for opening up a locked car or reduced to waiting for hours for the person to get there, I’m sure you’d share the same feelings I used to! After I’d dropped the key fob a couple of times, it had started to malfunction at times. I had to press the button four or five times before the car unlocked. I knew it was trouble, and I knew it would eventually give away. Called Village Locksmith Store for a replacement and they sent Ed. Though I’d asked for a replacement, Ed insisted on fixing the key fob. It took him some five minutes to fix the loose wiring within. Ed could have easily replaced the key fob and made more money out of it, but he didn’t. Honest bunch of technicians in Waukegan, IL. Will I hire them again? Definitely!
