I'm BEYOND ANY COMPREHENSION and very DISAPPOINTED, DISHEARTENED, LET DOWN AND EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED by the way Global Genesis Group has been handling my film. If handling is even the word for it! MOST LIKELY MISHANDLING IT!!! My film had won best writing at a film festival and was referred to them as the part of the deal. By the way, the festival itself has nothing to do with this, because they were left in the dark as well! On top of my award winning film, I brought in a script that I wrote with $100K committed from a private investor in agreement that they would co-produce and invest the other half of the budget. I was reassured by their VP of development that I was going to have a great experience with them and that they were really interested in the script. RED FLAG!!! I signed a distribution contract with them on 8-30-19 and delivered all of my film files on a hard drive within the first few days, because I knew that AFM was around the corner. I have an email and a text confirmation that they have received. I was very excited to work with the company and I even signed a one year management agreement with them because they promised me to get me work as a director/writer. RED FLAG!!! After I signed a joint venture agreement with them on my 2nd script with $100K attached, they appeared to be extremely excited about that. I kept asking them about their own investment and they kept changing the subject. I offered to talk to the other 2 guys that I knew who may have an interest to invest the rest of the money, but they didn't and probably for a good reason. Finally I got an answer from them that they had no liquid money and unable to put in the rest. That should have been said before I signed it with them! RED FLAG!!! Now, going back to my film distribution deal; It took them nearly three months to deliver a cut of my film that they promised and thought that it would benefit a better sale! They offered it as a part of the deal and when I watched it, I wanted to puke! The scenes were completely reshuffled, without any consideration to the author or the style of the film and if you're a filmmaker, you know what it means if you move even the slightest frame around, right? They messed up the whole movie and I sent them an extremely disappointed email. It took me 2 months to complete the whole post production on the entire film and this is what I was getting after 3 months?? This caused a massive stress between them and me and I have had some serious trust issues with them ever since. RED FLAG!!! I have REALIZED that they are VERY unethical and cannot and most likely WON'T deliver on their own promises!!! DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY AGREEMENT WITH THEM WHATSOEVER!! Don't give them the benefit of the doubt! They will talk your head off and lure you into believing that they are on top of the world for you and will do anything they can to make your movie shine and sold!!! RED FLAG!!! Back to the AFM nonsense! I've been bugging them day and night about the AFM market and 1st they said that it won't make it there. RED FLAG!!! Then they said it would and created their own poster (the only good thing that came out of their post production team) and again I had to chase them to have a meeting to see where we stood. I waited for more than an hour to see the VP of development -- and I had an appointment -- and all I got from them was that they were super busy with their meetings. Nothing came out of that appointment with them because, guess what? They didn't do anything! RED FLAG!!! Then they said that they would send me a report from their VP of sales who left the company right after the market! RED FLAG!!! I got no reporting, nothing!!! Guess what? I got another cut of my film from an intern editor who doesn't like to communicate and has a bunch of excuses! I offered my help many times, I even offered to drive to his house so that we could sit down and work through it. Nothing! He wants to work from the notes only and the whole executive team supported that. It all takes an extreme amount of time wasted on rendering, uploading, going over the notes, looking for stuff, then sending the notes back and forth, then messing up everything and basically going back to ground zero where I started with them in August. If you're a filmmaker, stay the HELL AWAY from these people. I have all of their names, phone numbers and email addresses and if push comes to shove I will share it with everyone and anyone. This is such a bull crap!!! STAY ALERT AND DON'T LET SOMETHING THAT YOU MADE WITH YOU SWEAT AND TEARS TAKEN FOR GRANTED BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!! YOU HAVE THE TALENT - NOT THEM!!!
