As a former tenant of Platinum Property Holding LLC, all I can say is stay far far far away from these individuals. They will do everything in their power to intimidate you and refuse to return your security deposit. Now before readers start jumping to conclusions thinking me and my two roommates were irresponsible, let me explain the situation.
My roommates and I work at a local hospital as medical students. We have been pretty responsible all throughout our life and were not one to throw huge bangers. Initially we signed our lease with AandR properties for two years. For the first year, everything was great. However at the start of the second year, AandR properties sold our house to a different property group (Platinum Property Holdings). At the beginning there were some slight differences (i.e., no online portal to make payments and therefore Zelle'ing the landlord, no structure for maintenance requests etc...). However, no issue would be so significant other than Platinum withholding two thousand dollars for our security deposit a month after we moved. We requested in writing, over email and in texts (over five times over the next two weeks) to see an itemized deduction of damages so we could understand the two thousand in damages that was withheld. We received complete silence on their end. After 4 weeks of this, we had to write a demand letter requesting our full security deposit. This was subsequently ignored. When we decided to take the next step and go to small claims court, they decide to counter sue us for an additional five thousand in damages. We unfortunately had to get a lawyer and now after seven months, they have finally settled for our full security deposit, our lawyer fees and an extra two-hundred and fifty dollars. Save yourself some time, money, headaches and teeth pulling and do not sign a lease with this company. They will look to rip you off at any moment and until you take them to court, will not respond at all.
