I called Moonlight Meat Processing in January to schedule a cow and yearling calf to be butchered with USDA Inspection. I was very clear I wanted a USDA Inspection! I was told No problem. The woman told me they butcher on Thursdays so I could drop them off anytime Wednesday or early Thursday morning. I dropped them off Wednesday, January 31, 2024. As the gentleman and I went over the cut sheet he assured me of the USDA Inspection and I would get a call when they were ready. Early afternoon on February 23, 2024 they called to ask when I was coming to get the meat! It had been ready the week before but they never called! When I got there to pick it up it was NOT Inspected USDA as scheduled and promised! The roasts and steaks were supposed to be 2 inches thick and packaged in 4s.They were a little over 1 inch and vacuum packed so loosely the meat was sliding all over the inside of the packages and had to be rewrapped! They were also not packaged in 4s! I thought helping a small family business was the right thing to do! Boy was I wrong!
