Redfield Exteriors also known as Derek Redfield has taken 2/3 of the contract money and is now not showing up or answering calls. Below is a detailed listing of my emails to Mr.Redfield. Besides taking money for work he hasn't done he also cashed check that he wasn't authorized to cash. The weather has been perfect and Derek has not shown up( sunny and today is going to be in the 50's). He is refusing to answer texts, calls or emails. Copy of letter to Mr. Redfield, As of today my parents have given you two separate check per our contract. I have attached a copy of what we are working off of dated January 7, 2021. The scope of the project consisted of 1. Removal of all existing siding. 2. Removal and replacement of all rotten sheathing or trim wood. 3. Removal of old lattice and replace with new plywood. 4. Wrap entire exterior with Dupont weather guard and zip system on all seams. 5. Install new insulated vinyl siding per customers order. 6. Install new vinyl soffits, overhangs and porch ceiling per customers order. 7. Install aluminum trim on all exposed wood (trim, fascia, posts stair kickers) 8. Install new gutter system. 9. Install new stainless cable railing system on all porches. Per the contract you requested 1/3 Deposit at Scheduling, 1/3 Deposit at prep stage completion, and final 1/3 at completion of the job. Per the contract your start date was January 12, 2021 and completion date was March 12, 2021. Where the house stands today (3/9/2021) in terms of the points mentioned above that is from your contract is : 1. That there is multiple places on the exterior that still have the material left to remove. 2. This hasn't been started. 3. Removal of lattice is done but there has been no new plywood installed. 4. The house has been wrapped but not the seams yet. Except for the parts mentioned on point one that haven't been touched yet. 5. This hasn't been started 6. New vinyl soffits, overhangs have not been started. Only portions of the porch ceilings have been completed. 7. This has not been started. 8. This has not been started. 9. This has not been started. You have started this project on January 12, 2021 and it is due to be completed by March 12, 2021 per the contract. You have received two separate checks. 1. On January 6, 2021 my parents sent you a check from Florida for $8,324.00 2. On January 12, 2021 for $8,324.00 that was hand delivered from me because a check was lost in the mail from my parents. 3. On January 14, 2021 you received the check from point one that we thought was lost. I told you that it was fine for you to hold it and wait to cash it until we were at the point of the contract that it called for a second payment. 4. On January 27, 2021 you texted me telling me that you cashed the check mentioned in point one and 3. Even though the contract did not call for it to be cashed yet you wrote to me. Hi. Shannon I deposited the other check I got from your parents, sometimes they are 5-7 business days to clear. I believe it cleared and then they canceled funding. I didn't know my parents put a stop hold on the check because they thought it was lost. 5. On February 4, 2021 you were asking for the second check even though the terms of the contract had yet to call for it. "I understand your parents to being hesitant but we are a couple of days out from being current." 6. On February 4, 2021 my parents gave you a second check totaling $8,324.00 even though you were not current on the contract because we were trying to be fair and understand that you needed to buy the pieces in your contract and pay your workers. 7. After you received the second payment you stopped coming every day. You went on vacation, then you told me it wasn't ideal working conditions. 8. Yesterday, I asked you were you and your crew were because it was sunny and warm out and you told me that you all were finishing up a skylight job and all four of you would show up tomorrow. (Today) 9. Today 3/9/2021 I wrote you at 9:30 am asking when you were going to show up and you have yet to show up or respond. 10. Please see the attached pictures. Derek, we have been more than patient and understanding. Your contract calls for you to be completed by March 12, 2021. You are not showing up to even work on the house. What do you suggest as contract changes? When are you going to come and finish the work? I need a definite dates that you are coming and when the work is going to be completed by. We are more than wiling to work with you but we paid you and you are now not coming fulfilling the terms of the contract.
