From an employee view of MAPCO Store #3305, 1218 Hazelwood Dr & Old Nashville Hwy, Smyrna, TN 37167 it is a great store with much potential. Staffed well but nobody wants to work...even "if" they show up. MAPCO "upper management" has certainly addressed this situation. MAPCO DOES care. It is just that the "employees" at #3305 on the "front line" (checkout, front register) do not have the same attitude. ie: Continuing a wireless phone conversation per speaker phone on counter while minimal interaction with a guest. The Store Manager DOES care and provides exceptional service to guests and employees. The issue, I believe, is these actions are not in the presence of the Store Manager. This younger generation does NOT view our guests as we viewed guests (1970's & 1980's) in our store as guests in our home. These procedures are in place by MAPCO for multiple reasons. To make our guest feel acknowledged and as a result, to who it pertains, reduce loss prevention. MAPCO is not a social meeting location and not a therapist session where certain front initial point of contact (IPOC) Employees perceive our customers as an interruption to, not their work, but their wireless social phone conversations. I do know personally MAPCO is a company built on ethics. Understandably a new employee may need assistance training on store procedures, but when it is found necessary to "train" an employee to "be polite and attentive to our guests I have yet to see that be effective in over two decades in my former career. If you experienced a less than perfect experience in the past, please stop by again and experience our guest treatment.
