Worst shopping experience ever. On 01/13/24, i went to Redwings shoe store located in Cicero NY. Unbeknownest to me I had no idea the owner of the franchise had descended from his white ivory tower to mingle with the common folk and play shoe salesman for a day. Mind you, i have been in this store 12 times in the past 5 years. Every year, twice a year and have never ever seen or heard of this individual. At the time i had no idea he was deaf and my soft spoken demeanor compelled him to raise his voice and accuse me of disrespecting his handicap. I apologized for my ignorance, i then proceeded to take a seat to wait patiently and quietly for another sales associate. OMG, you would have thought I lit a stick of dynamite, he went absolutely ballistic and went out of his way to demeanize me out loud for the entire store to hear. Obviously he has a chip on his shoulder and has no reservations about taking his problems out on unsuspecting customers. At first I thought it was a new salesman having a really really bad day, not the owner. As an employee of two, not one, but two government agencies (one federal and one local), i am forced to do business with this local franchise store due to no others being in the CNY area. My only recourse is to make sure the next time i go Redwings shoe store located in Cicero NY, i call in advance and hope the owner is out on his yacht or hitting the golf course or whatever "SAFESPACE" he needs to avoid this neurotic behavior in public. I feel for the employees that have been embarrassed by his unprofessional demeanor, they probably wish he would stay away, it would make it so much easier on everyone else. IMHO, if you have a choice,stay away from this franchise, go somewhere else and save yourself the aggravation, it's just not worth it.
