I had 2 cords of firewood delivered by Simpson Signature Landscapes LLC. The wood was wet- it was difficult to light, keep lit, and it produced alot of smoke. The excess smoke is from incomplete combustion, which creates more creosote, the primary cause of chimney fires (hello fire harzard!!!). I called Mr. Simpson to tell him about the wood- he had all kinds of excuses why he couldn't keep it dry. I know how to season wood- keep it protected from the element, and let it sit for a year (softwood) or two (hardwood). He did neither of these things. He told me that the wood was exposed the elements, rain, snow, whatever- and the wood was cut only ten months ago (hardwood). I tried to tell him that this is not the proper way to season wood, but he just got rude. My neighbor got some wood recently, and it was bone dry. Dont' buy from this guy, he'll deliver you muddy, icy, and wet crud, and not think twice. There are alot of other good firewood places- don't waste your money here. This guy shouldn't be allowed to ship firewood- he can't even get that right. AND ITS DANGEROUS. I can recommend a few good places to get wood- Stabler and Jenny's Market are two good ones.
