My home warranty company sent HAUGSTAD HVAC to fix a problem my tenant's were having with their thermostat---the technician did NOTHING to fix the problem--instead he told the tenants "to adjust the temperature settings as needed." That did NOT fix the problem. He collected the $45 service fee and left. HAUGSTAD HVAC refused to send the technician back unless I agreed to purchase a maintenance plan. When I refused they told the home warranty company it was a pre-existing condition. My furnace and thermostat are only 2 years old. In my opinion, HAUGSTAD HVAC was trying to get extra money. I am VERY disappointed in HAUGSTAD HVAC and would never use them again.

This contractor was sent by Choice Home Warranty (CHW) to assess my Crown Boiler/Heating System. Terrible Contractor and Home Warranty Company. First and Foremost, when I called to submit a claim, I clearly stated my heating system was working, but it seemed it wasn't working proficiently and taking way longer to heat up the house during one of the recent cold nights our area experienced. The CHW claims team initiated a claim for my boiler/heater. Clain # 78726340. Their team sent a local contract from my area called Haugstad Heating and Cooling to evaluate the problem. This company is a terrible contractor. When the Tech arrives, he immediately reprimands me stating I don't know how to operate my downstairs thermostat. That was an outrage and insulting. Then we turn on the heater/boiler and he had to wait for the boiler to reach the optimum temperature to activate. He spent more time in his truck than evaluating/assessing my boiler. When the boiler activated, he touched the pipes, knocked on the water tank on the boiler, and proceeded to take pictures. He determined the boiler SEEMED to be working fine. Say what! I could have done that. He then charged me the $65 fee (per the contract with CHW) and gave me a receipt for $65. I wanted a diagnostic conducted checking if the boiler system, in general, was working proficiently. I know Haugstad, per the CHW, wasn't going to perform the maintenance, but I wanted to know if the tech recommended maintenance.
