Please Steer clear of Upstate Stone Works. I purchased a vase from them through PayPal in honor of my deceased son. When they sent me the proof of my vase, I enlarged it only to find that it did not look like the photo that I provided them. In fact it looked extremely Cartoonist like a Cartoon Caricature. I told them of my concerns and asked them to Please fix it. To please tone down whatever enhancements their Proof Marker made because it was very unflattering. The Artist added a weird definition to his upper lip which made it look like gums, altered his teeth, changed the facial structure, and made him look like an old man. I asked them to please tone it down because it looked weird. Apparently the woman knew how badly I wanted the vase. So being rude she asked me to pay more money to fix their mistake. I refused to pay more money. I thought the entire reason why a company sends a proof is to fix mistakes prior to production. When I refused to pay more for them to do the corrections they cancelled my order. In other words; not allowing yourself to be extorted is a problem for Upstate Stone Works. They had the audacity to cancel my order because they made a mistake! These people do not need to be dealing with grieving families as they are very obnoxious. I paid what they originally asked to do a job correctly and you would have thought they were donating the vase to my family and we should be grateful. At the very least they refunded my money. Please stay away from this company they will take your money then change the agreement!!!
