Please read before booking with First Class Deliveries - I’m writing not about the service provided but the poor business practices provided by Roy. I found his company by googling “local movers near me”. Roy was responsive to my inquiry and recommended, for the size of our move, that we have four guys at $200 per hour, for a minimum of four hours. He cut me a deal with moving my piano and let me know of the additional fee for wrapping furniture. On the morning of the move, he and his crew got right to work. Immediately he gave me a new (higher) price for the piano, not the price previously agreed upon. We had a platform bed that needed to be dissembled and he let me know there would be a fee for that (even though his website said this service was included). His workers were fast and efficient and the work was completed in just under four hours. When it came time to pay the bill, Roy slapped on a $400 travel fee and an additional half our of moving time! I had been waiting over an hour for them to arrive after getting lost so I knew what time they pulled in. He informed me that there are always travels fees, however what he wasn’t forthcoming about was that he agreed to take my “local” move even though he was far from local! He traveled all the way from Buffalo to Syracuse without even mentioning when we booked that (a) that travel fees were not included and what those fees would be and (b) that they were coming from Buffalo!! When I let him know that I didn’t think it was fair to be charged almost double the original estimate (which of course isn’t in writing) he played it off as I should have known and that he had workers to pay. As a business owner, yes, you have to pay your help - but that’s not my problem that you took a job that would cost more money than others to pay your employees! For anyone looking to hire Roy, think twice, because I guarantee not only will you be paying for things you were unaware of, but you’ll get a “sorry, not sorry” attitude at the end. He advised me next time to “do my research”. Even after expressing my concerns Roy wasn’t willing to provide me with any resolution- not even the 10% new customer discount that he advertised online. Nothing. I guess I should expect nothing less than a company that has been give an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. I’m sure I’m not the only customer this has happened to and won’t be the last. So my advise to his potential future costumers is the advice he gave me - do your research before hiring First Class Deliveries.
