Golden Valley Seed was unwilling to give even a single seed to Haiti. I bought 3000 papaya seeds from them with an explanation that the purchase was for self-funded agricultural relief work that I am doing in Haiti. I was disappointed when they shipped exactly 3000 seeds – not a single extra seed for the poorest nation in the western hemisphere was included in the shipment. When I called to return the seeds (I was willing to pay shipping and restocking fees), they rudely refused, and stated that they were ‘for profit’. Well, they should learn a little about customer satisfaction and PR. Sure, some potential customers won’t care that they did nothing for Haiti – sad but true IMHO. However, some of you will care, and will spend your dollar elsewhere. I know I will. FYI, another seed supplier doubled the seed order when I explained my project in Haiti. I'll never buy seeds from them again. Send a message that you care about the less-fortunate.
