API is a 100%, privately owned Central Station alarm company, offering a wide array of security services in the Southland for more than 50 years. API was founded in 1956 as a small, privately owned Central Station alarm company. As our subscriber base and service areas increased, our name was changed to IBA Protection Services to better identify us as a full service Central Station alarm company, providing commercial and institutional security services to businesses, as well as public and private agencies in three Southern California counties. We continue to provide security services to subscribers who have remained in service with API for more than 40 years. In June, 2004 we officially became American Protection Industries, Inc., a California corporation. Our core business is the design, specification, installation and monitoring of a wide array of high-technology systems, including intrusion alarm, access control, and more.
