Let me preface this by stating that I was not present during this pick up/move of my possessions so i was counting on Summit to do what they agreed to. They did not.
My wife and I have multiple articles missing, damaged and some broken. Separate from that this company is completely overcharging me. While Summit was picking up my possessions at the last pickup location, #3 of 3 locations, they increased my quote. I authorized my father to sign a new quote which would then be adjusted after the load is weighed but Summit states that my father signed for a flat rate BUT they cannot provide any paperwork to that affect because it is a LIE. The driver, Jeremy, was very surprised at my bill. From the weight and rate we should be paying ~$1,800. This is clearly stated on the paperwork as .79 per pound for a total of 2,270lbs. My rate was ~$2,800 but as i mentioned it should have been ~$1,800. To try to validate this over charge summit presented me with paperwork signed by my 75+ year old mother which is completely falsified. 1st of all my mother is at the 1st location and the re-quote was at the 3rd location (mind you that these locations are 45 minutes apart) so this means they must have had her sign blank paperwork which they later on added a new total to. 2nd my mother is not of sound mind which is why she was not authorized to sign for anything on my behalf. This company took advantage of the fact that she did not know what she was signing. This is HORRIBLE.
Also the movers refused to assemble our furniture as was our agreement. Jeremy and Cecil, the movers, were actually complaining stating "if summit wants someone to build something they should have them take it apart" apparently the employees that pick up and disassembled are not the same ones delivering.
The driver Jeremy actually said he doesn't care and that I can right "refused to assemble" on the paperwork. Mind you that the movers that picked up our articles did in fact disassemble my furniture. It remains in pieces and unusable .
The driver Jeremy kept saying "I don't know why I am doing this! I tried to quit but each time I do they offer more money."
I have asked Summit to let me know what we can do to remedy my missing items and my excessive bill. Since asking then nothing has been done for me. I was offered $50 for the inconvenience and $200 if i remove the bad review from Facebook and other social sites. I really just want for Summit to take ownership, apologize and make this right. I am hoping this review calls them to action so they can make it right with me as well as fix the issues within their company. To add to that the movers were very careless with the possessions in the truck that were surrounding mine as well. I have never seen so many broken articles falling out of a truck.
Not sure how they have a "A" rating on BBB. They have 3 stars on Mymovers.com.
I have the paperwork to back up all the claims in this review.
