2012 7th army move, 2 were DITY (do it yourself) moves where we packed the boxes, rented a truck and hired men to load and unload the truck and my husband drove the truck. We are very experienced at moving. Previous moving plan for 3 days packing and finish everything (thoroughly) in 2.5 days. Alarmed when Manitou Express said they could do it in 2 days. I even called. Assumed they would send 4 packers, just 3. We never know what size housing we'll have; we keep our household goods pretty consistent for about 1800sq ft. This house was 2200. 2 shady ladies & a man showed up at 10, not the typical 8am, starts packing at 11. They left at 4, not the expected 5pm.Serious oversight in choosing Memorial Day weekend? Monday was the holiday. Tuesday called at 9 and 10, we finally get a 10:30 cell phone call from 1 packer stating, "Sorry we're late. My friends partied a bit too much and I'm the only one on the way, but they will be coming later." The man showed up an hour later, the 2nd lady 2 hours later. Her hang-over was so bad she maybe did an hour's worth of work. Asked then numerous times to pack a small tote, "But that will start another whole inventory sheet." After they left I had to pack 2 more boxes to finish their work. Unloaded a lot of crushed boxes (ran out of paper), my sewing machine with no paper around it and my toaster oven with 1 crushed paper beside the glass door. Amazed how little was broken, credit goes to careful loaders. Run from this company!
