Stefan Hernic, a cabinetmaker from Austria, came to America in 1956. He came to this country not only with his wife, Rosa, and two trunks full of all of their belongings, but also his knowledge and skills of old-world craftsmanship. What he wanted was the American dream which was to have his own business. He wanted to be his own boss, doing what he loved to do.
