12 performances of full length classical ballets are staged each year. Music is composed by local musicians. Oldest ballet company in Delaware County Performances are at Swarthmore Ballet Theatre. Instructions are in technique, choreography, adagio and variations (all part of classical ballet). Choreographers perform for the public 2 times a year to their own poetry, silence, their own rhythms or music by local composers. Various leading dancers from Pennsylvania Ballet teach ballet and partnering at S.B.T all year. Ages 3 to 7 are in pre-ballet. Ages 8 and older are in classical ballet. Adult ballet classes are also given.
