The Barter and Donnan Funeral Home was founded in 1944 as the Donnan Funeral Home located at 25 North Perry Street. The Frederick Barter Funeral Home was purchased by Edward Donnan in 1969 and the two merged in 1975 and were located at 1 North Melcher Street in Johnstown. Mr. Donnan continued to assist with funeral services sharing his more than 40 years of experience until his passing on April 8, 2015.
