On Saturday July 21 at about 5:00pm I arrived at the bakery to pick up a $150 cake that our church purchased for my Pastor. I noticed the cake in the glass storage refrigerator immediately when I entered because it was the wrong color. Pink instead of Purple. I engaged the staff who in turn got me a man who identified him self as the "General Manager". I explained the issue to him & pointed out on my receipt where it said "Purple". Michael Glover immediately became argumentative with me insisting that the word was written in the wrong place on a receipt that was filled out by his staff (that I signed). I insisted that it would not be apparent to me that the color was written in the wrong place as I'm not the person who wrote it. I also pointed out the fact that nowhere on the receipt did it say "pink".The argument became very loud & intense. Other customers were in the store & they were disturbed with the substandard customer care I received. Michael Glover was very rude & he spoke to me in a very degrading tone. Michael "General Manager" also yelled at me as our argument escalated. I finally stated, "Rossmoor came to me as a highly recommended bakery, after today I'll never patronize or recommend this bakery again, I've received better customer service from kids who work at McDonald's". The incident ended with Glover giving me a 10% discount. "Why" I ask did it take a fierce argument that lasted 10 minutes when the end result was just that. The cake was going to be eaten be it pink or purple. We are human, we all make mistakes including me. It is the Deplorable customer service response I received that has prompted this review. All I expected was a discount of some sort. Instead I received the worst experience of customer service in my life. I arrived at the bakery in a great mood on a spiritual high as I was on my way to a Holy Convocation where the cake was part of the celebration. When I left I was extremely frustrated, angry at the incident that took place, & unable to focus on the Blessed event I was in route to. The sad part is that apparently this is the normal behavior of the "General Manager" which was confirmed by the staff who witnessed the argument. Multiple staff apologized to me for "HIS" behavior and said, "He's always like that". I cannot imagine what it must be like for the staff who work under him as he created a Hostile Environment for the 10-15 minutes I was there. Who ever owns this store, you definitely need to reevaluate your general manager position or send him to class to receive formal education.
