The California Veterinary Clinic (CVC) opened on July 5, 1979, shortly after Dr. Roger Borgmeyer graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri in Columbia. The clinic's original location was a former gas station on Highway 50, and was run by Dr. Borgmeyer and his wife, Peggy, who acted as his secretary and assistant.
