General Insurance Services is an independent insurance agency and brokerage primarily serving Northwest Indiana. Our roots in La Porte go back to the 1930s with agencies formed by John & Frank Hargrave and J. Garland Taylor. Our roots in Michigan City, Indiana go back to the 1940s with agencies formed by Norm Cipares, Robert Rose and Thomas Ringo. We are currently structured as an "S" Corporation with 10 shareholders. We have offices in the communities of La Porte, Michigan City, and Valparaiso with over 40 employees. At General Insurance Services, we strive to be your source for all forms of insurance and risk management. We have been helping businesses and individuals for over 70 years. We serve Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan and many accounts in the greater Chicago market.
