I just met Peggy from Tom's Floors today. It has been several years since I first heard raves about the company and I finally decided to get an estimate for a small repair to my wood floors. Peggy was right on time for our appointment. She told me in a no-nonsense way that the damage to my floors was very minute and unnoticeable and not worth the cost to fix it. I had to agree. Even though she wasn't going to make any money off me for the repair, she stayed several minutes and instructed me about wood floors. She took out a piece of spare wood I kept in one of my closets and showed me how you could tell if it could be refinished or not. Sadly, the wood I had was too thin to ever be refinished. I then mentioned to her that I had just purchased wood floors for a new house I was building. I told her I was afraid the new wood was probably also too thin to ever be refinished. To my amazement she drove out to the gallery I had purchased the wood from and examined it for me. Bear in mind that her company doesn't sell wood floors. She wasn't checking my new floors because she wanted to sell me wood floors -- she just wanted to help me out. I am blown away by her act of kindness to me -- she really is an angel. Even though I learned the new wood I bought is also too thin to be refinished -- she has all my business in the future. And, I won't hesitate to recommend Peggy and Tom's Floors to anyone I know.
