I recently purchased a top brand aluminum Jon boat. It took some time to get the factory version of a front corner trolling motor mounting bracket. The bracket was less than what I expected. I took the factory bracket to S&S Welding in Seffner Florida. Making the factory bracket more stable seemed unlikely. S&S fabricated a larger platform barcket made of thick aircraft grade aluminum. S&S welded two sides with access to the underside for placing nuts on the mounting bolts. I finished the final side with heavy rivets used to secure window risers and door handles for most modern cars. I couldn't be happier. The final cost was just a few dollars more than the factory version. I won't worry about the strength of the S&S bracket. Thanks S&S.
