Ralph L. Sharrett had nothing but a love of cars when he got into the automobile business in 1938. He purchased a Ford dealership in Manassas, Va., where he grew up. He was 26 when he borrowed $1,400 and bought the entire dealership. In 1940, he acquired Hughes Motor Co. at 30 East Baltimore St. in Hagerstown MD. and changed the name to Sharrett Motors.
