After traveling with this company in 2010, I signed up for the Greece/Turkey trip in 2011. In March, I became ill and subsequently called Bitsie, wife of owner, and cancelled my trip in late May. The cancellation policy was: 59-45 days, $1000 (my situation); 44-30 days, $2000; 29 to departure, 100%. Bitsie told me to sell my trip to somebody, and then she said she would call the minister/travel guide and get him to sell my trip. Apparently, she forgot my situation until early May. She called in early May and told me that I was BETTER and able to make the trip. I responded that I was better, but not able to travel. She never sent me the $4000 or so refund, and I waited patiently. In June, she solicited my group for a third trip (Italy). I reminded her of my refund and wanted to apply it to her next trip. She then send me a CANCELLATION FEE of $1000. I called to remind her that I had owed her $1000 for cancelling two months in advance. She refused to refund my money, even with pleas to her honesty. Then I sought the help- of the minister/guide, but he was not able to get my money back. Bitsie told him that I had called her several times from March to May and waffled. This was an absolute lie. After months of emails, with threats (BBB, not a member; small claims court, cannot collect even if you win) and pleas.
