I met Sam when he was towing a load of yard waist that was not tarped. He was losing bushes and rocks all over the road. He was going the opposite direction I was and right before he passed me a large softball sized rock rolled out of his trailer, bounced and hit the side of my truck and smashed my mirror. I turned around and passed him and put on my hazards and came to a slow stop while pointing for him to pull over. I stepped out of my truck and approached his and told him what had happened. Him and his son stepped out and walked up to my truck to see the smashed hood and mirror. he would pay for the damage but didn't want to use insurance. Due to our current situation with covid-19 I didn't want to waist the police officers time, so we agreed he would pay for the damage if it wasn't a lot. Then he said if it's a lot he would just run it through his insurance. I agreed and we shook hands. (I have hand sanitizer in my truck). He handed me his business card and said to call him when I have the info. I did some research for an estimate and its going to be over a thousand dollars in damage. I called him to tell him and he said just do him a favor and run it through my insurance and he would pay my deductible. I called my insurance company to file the claim. Then I tried to contact Sam and he said he was going to file a police report on me for "running him off the road". This guy has no honor at all. Now I have to take this guy to small claims court when everything opens back up. The thing that bothers me the most is that I considered taking my motorcycle and i would have been killed. Tarp your load Sam!
