Paul worked as a valet, parking cars at the Precinct Restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio and worked as a law clerk to make ends meet while attending Chase College of Law. He became the first Chase student to win the Bettman Moot Court Competition as a first year law student and went on to lead Chase to the final 16 in the National Moot Court Championship in New York City.
