I am not understanding how Monroe County highway department vehicles continuously traveling up and down all of Monroe County along with rafter Road Highway 68 to the infamous can't get it fixed Bank Street and other small narrow roads to a little street called Scott Street where they are experiencing quite a lot of erosion due to rain and flooding driveways and of course to right in front of Shorty's and Bridge to the two- Lane highway that we all travel we all hit the outrageously amounts of potholes on other types of road damage such as side damage and what I like to call side slippage where the road is sliding down the mountain if you are unfortunately finding yourself driving down rafter Road you better not damage your vehicle because Highway Department excuses is going to be we will not pay for your vehicle damage because we did not know about the damage to this road this is what happened to my vehicle I was forced to run over side damage because of another car driving or high rate of speed in the middle of the road on rafter it forced me into the side damage and damage my vehicle I have over $1,000 worth of damage which the highway department refuses to fix and I cannot afford when I was complaining to Steve the head honcho at the exact site of where my car hit a truck hauling a tractor trailer came along and hit the same exact spot but luckily for him he didn't receive any damage but it doesn't seem to matter just the lack of concern an for Public Safety along you're lack of empathy for the damages to your vehicles they have no empathy whatsoever especially on rafter road we are experiencing High rate of speeding vehicles especially Highway Department trucks Fort Loudon trucks trucks of every type Vehicles logging trucks off-road bikes motorcycles bicycles tractors and even lawn mowers along with people walking while vehicles are speeding and driving in the middle of the road and with all these blind curves I've even had one big huge bulldozer come around the corner barely missing me by inches as we came around the corner it's slammed into the side of the hill and got stuck in the ditch for hours I had great satisfaction in that when I backtracked as I was waving and smiling thinking that's what you get for almost killing me and truly feeling blessed it was not me I would have rolled over on my side and probably would have ended up upside down and had been seriously hurt or worse because the road is so narrow we need more speeding signs signs indicating to stay on their own side of the road up end of the road to the other end road along with yellow double lines you can clearly see at one time on rafter Road they did have double yellow line but since has faded I have asked why they don't do this highway department told me it wasn't going to do any good so I guess not to do anything is better that's just stupid highly illogical and not a viable solution if you don't have the knowledge or I'll go so far as to say you don't really want to fix it then may I make a solution and hire out of state I hate excuses you know what they say about excuses we all have one and they stink we are not in the 1950s people this is 2023 don't tell me that you can't confiscate a portion of each side of rafter Road or a side of a mountain just figure it out in order to widen this outrageously dangerous road you have the legal Authority you also cannot tell me that you do not have the funds because we all pay a wheel tax but instead of going to fix the roads it went to build a new jail and fix the courthouse and that's definitely what the town is saying like I said we all Drive the same road so you can't tell me you don't see the severity of the conditions of how highly outrageously dangerous these roads have become Because unless you are blind and dumb to all of the vehicles which is numerous going down the hill or in the ditches near misses you definitely drive your own Vehicles along with work Vehicles and God forbid one of your family members or coworkers are severely injured or worse so are you going to except those lame excuses that you are telling the public so you are completely aware of our situation on how outrageously dangerous it is up here on rafter Road due to the fact that people like to drive at a high rate of speed in the middle of the road and they are so many blind corners so what is the excuse now truly I feel that they are unconcerned total lack of empathy and unwilling for the safety of people I've even heard that a person has been killed already on rafter Road and I'm sure many others so now Highway Department you can't say you did not know because now you have been told the highway department has forgotten who they work for they work for us the people of great state of Tennessee so get to work and fix these outrageous dangerous roads. ONE MORE THING BLESS YOUR HEART!!!
