Melinda requires a large sum of money up front, which she burns through quickly. Her billing statements are vague. Be aware you cannot call her on the phone! Her phone doesn’t even have a receptionist, it goes straight to voice mail. She wants all communication via email or phone calls. Very reluctant to have face to face meetings. The mediation she walked my family member through was incomplete due to her incorrect advice on house appraisals, and it is apparent she does not have an understanding of what true equity in a house entails. As a divorce attorney, this should be something they truly understand and research. Otherwise, how can you properly negotiate a settlement on property? We feel like she totally caved to the other side during the mediation after reading the agreement several times. When my family member ran out of money due to loss of income, she dropped him like a hot stone- and still filed a lien against him at court. The family member offered to make payments, but she did not respond. When we started re-reading all of the hundreds of papers, we realized her child support calculations that she submitted were using the ex wife’s previous years earnings- not the current year. Our overall opinion is that she wants cases over quickly and easily so she can take her money and run.
