I used Otto Davis a few days ago, after talking to a few plumbers. He quoted a fair price and knew what he was talking about so I hired him to install a water heater and slop sink. He quoted 400 - 500 for the sink, but then charged me 1100, including 500 for a drain pump I didn't ask for, and that Amazon had priced at 225. A few days later the hot water pipe connected to the slop sink started leaking.
I called him twice to inquire about the discrepancy, and come to an appropriate resolution. Our calls were cordial, and he agreed to give me a check for $500 in exchange for a new pump that I would buy for him from Amazon. The next morning, I received a message from him that I should not contact him, and he would no longer respond to my calls.
While he was on the job, we chatted a bit. He was very amiable, and spoke like he knew his job, but the final estimate, our following communication and the way he handled what could have been a straightforward resolution to an error of judgement on his part left me quite disappointed. I sure he's done a good job for many other clients. Unfortunately my experience with him did not see him live up to his best.
I added one star because he did a good job with the water heater.
