I would like to recommend Salem Tire Center to anyone that appreciates fantastic servis and genuine caring. The entire staff is amazingly freindly and helpful. But more than that, they saved my Life, and I mean that litrally. I left Michigan driving Texas alone. I am a 50 yr old female, and the road can be a scary place, traveling alone. when I got to Illinois, I noticed a horrible wobbling and thumping. It was so bad, i had to pull over. I looked up a used tire place in Mattoon, IL. I asked the guy to put 2 used tires on the front of my car. when he was removing the old tires, he said that the wobbling was from bad wheel bearings. I had to make a choice, becuase I did not have much money at all. I decided to let them fix the wheel bearings which cost 3 times as much as a set of used tires. but when I got back on the road, the thumping was much worse. I pulled over in Salem, IL. and there in front of me was Salem Tire. I pulled in with exactly $37.00 I asked them about 1 used tire hoping I could at least afford one. After not being able to scrape up enough money, I asked them if they could put my donut on the front. They put 2 tires on the front of my car and never charged me a cent. They saved me. They said they could not let me go down the interstate with a donut and a worn tire. I cried, becuase the kindness was so amazing. where I lost hope in humanity at the first tire shop only interested in making more money, not caring that it was my tires and not the wheel bearings but they could make more money by telling me something different..they risked my life for a buck..... where the men at Salem tire only cared about my safety....I will always be grateful for the blessings...GOD BLESS SALEM TIRE EMPLOYEES!!!!
