I've been waiting a long time to do a review of Lewis Equipment. I know this is a Stihl company site so I'm wondering if this will ever get posted. Several years back I brought my Stihl chain saw in to be turned and sharpened. About the time I was in there a guy from a Logging company showed up with a truck load of Stihl saws. I dropped mine off and didn't think a thing about it. Couple of days later I get a call from the owner. He says, "my saw needs to be replaced" "it's a worn out piece of junk". And he's said he'd give me a really good deal on a new saw. I declined the offer and told him just to tune it up and sharpen the blade. A week or so later I go in to pick up the saw. He brings out the invoice and I pay in cash up front. He then goes in the back and brings out a saw. Well it wasn't my saw. I'd had that saw for 5 years and I knew ever nick and crack on it. I looked at the saw and told him "that's not my saw". He responded that it was the one that I brought in. Then I said "OH, so that's the reason for the phone call". Then he said "what phone call" at that point I knew the jig was up. That SOB had managed to get my saw mixed in with those from the Timber company and probably gave them my saw. I stood and argued with him for about an hour. He denied that he had switch saws on me, he denied that he had ever called me. I demanded my money back He refused. I really wish I would have had the serial number off of the saw because if I did I would have taken him court.
