Even though most of the old traumas are all but forgotten, they may play a significant role in the level of pain and disability you experience now with more recent injuries. Even if you aren’t feeling pain from these insults, they build up over time and make it harder to heal more recent injuries. Bamboo enjoys working with these complex pain issues caused by traumas. Old injuries may not hurt, but they leave residual damage in the body that often impacts more recent injuries/traumas. Bamboo plays the detective to unravel the pain pattern caused by these traumas. Clients feel relief and gain confidence as they continually progress in their healing. Myofascial Acupuncture takes a view of chronic or recurrent pain due to injury from a wide angle. Instead of focusing on the area of pain, she connects the dots to find the real root by peeling away the underlying restrictions that tug into the painful area. What sounded crazy at first makes more sense as you experience the work and notice how your body loosens up and moves with greater ease, comfort and life. People who want to get better will do anything and everything they can to get going again. Often times they over do it and cause more injury and pain. In effect we retraumatize the body, cause more damage and slow the healing process. These old trauma overlying newer injuries require a much more gentle approach to healing. Bamboo teaches her clients how to work with their body to reduce the possibility of retraumatizing themselves with overly aggressive stretches and exercises. with body awareness and specific individualized stretches and releases. We get the body and the mind (and the spirit) to work together to promote the healing desired. Bamboo teaches unique and individualized self help techniques to reduce pain, increase mobility and improve posture. She teaches small or semi private groups and individuals. Her aim is to make sure these techniques are done without causing more pain. No pain equals great gain.
