Do not use this accountant. Peter had no consideration for the 23 employees I have during this pandemic depending on paychecks now more than ever. His unprofessional action caused a delay in my staff receiving their checks, some who are extremely dependent on the timeliness of their income. Please read below to understand how terrible his actions are. When I told Peter I was going to write a bad review about my experience, he threatened me with an attorney! This what happened… We hired him for 9 years to process our payroll. Within these 9 years, doing standard payroll was fine. His staff is good, but Peter is not someone you want to work with. He was able to acquire the PPP loan for my business, then afterward wanted a seemingly high price tag ($1,700) for bi-weekly “consultation” and “work fees” wanting payment up front! When I confronted him on the amount via email (which I stated it seemed like a cash grab) he called me immediately and was speaking rudely and angrily with me for questioning his estimate. With him being so rude, I decided I was going to use a different accountant to help manage and consult with the PPP loan. I decided not to hire his office for his consultation service on the loan and only needed his office for payroll. A week later, I submitted my payroll to Peter’s office to process. Other than changing my payroll date, there was no additional work needing to be done on his end except process my payroll like he had done for the past 9 years. I submitted payroll on 5/5/20 and later that day his office e-mailed me stating payroll will be processed and sent via ups. When payroll did not arrive by 5/7/20 I was clueless as to why and had not received a call or email from his office letting me know they were not going to process my payroll. I had to call Peter to ask where payroll was and he stated that he was dropping me as a customer because It was not "profitable” anymore for him to continue running our payroll. He told me this a day before Pay day, 5/8/20!!!! It is my belief that Peter did this intentionally because I did not hire his office for PPP consultation after he acquired the loan for us. There is no good reason for him to do what he did the day before pay day, with no advanced notification of his intention. What company/ person does not inform their customer of their dramatic intention when it will effect so many people’s income and livelihood!?!? STAY AWAY!!!! Since his office cannot charge me for acquiring the loan, it was my decision on whether or not to use Peter for his consultation. I chose not to use his consultation and I got the boot. Security (CARES) Act, P.L. 116-136, prohibits CPAs and accounting firms from collecting fees from small business clients they help apply for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans
