I brought my push mower to 202 Rent-All because it was the closest repair shop on the manufacturer's list of approved shops. I dropped it off with all the necessary warranty information and received a voice mail the following week saying it was done and that I could come pick it up. Since it wasn't mentioned or I didn't receive any other phone calls, I assumed that the repair was covered by the warranty and that I wouldn't owe any money. I arrived to be told that my mower was repaired and it would cost $40. Not too much or anything, but I simply asked what the problem was and why it wasn't covered by the warranty. I was told it was an issue with the gas and the carburetor needed to be cleaned or something like that. I asked why I didn't receive a phone call once the issue was diagnosed to see if I'd be okay paying $40 for them to do what needed to be done to fix the mower. It's not that I have a problem paying $40, but I would not have taken my mower here at all if not for the warranty situation for several reasons. The biggest reason is that I have a friend who fixes mowers on the side all the time. I didn't want him to work on it because I didn't want to void the warranty or anything. Similarly, apparently this guy has a line in the sand that says $40 Suffice it to say, I absolutely didn't expect to have to pay a dime for this repair. Anyway, after asking why I didn't receive a phone call to see if I'd be okay paying for the repair, the owner of the shop went off on me, telling me that I was being ridiculous and unreasonable and that $40 doesn't warrant a phone call, and continued to call me profanities and treat me like dirt. The customer standing next to me tried to interject a suggestion and the owner told him to mind his own xxxxing business. It was quite the display of hospitality.
To top it off, I went around back to pick up my mower after paying the $40 and the mower was soaking wet. Apparently, they had left it out in the rain. The gentlemen told me that they leave everyone's equipment out in the rain and it should be fine. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't let my equipment get wet like that and I certainly am not okay with a repair shop doing it.
In conclusion, I do not suggest taking any of your equipment to this place, nor renting equipment from this location as you're risking getting screwed one way or another.
